At Gulf University for Science and Technology, we value the diversity of our student body as a key component of our intellectual and social vitality. Our goal is to support efforts to create a more diverse workplace that values differences in race, ethnicity, religion, ability, and socioeconomic status. This will assist to ensure that everyone can succeed at work. We think that the various communities we serve should be reflected in our psychiatric personnel. We are devoted to expanding inclusion and diversity, two factors that are essential to attaining health equity. To encourage a more diverse workforce and a more equitable, inclusive, and inviting environment for all, the office will develop, cooperate on, and put best practices into action.

OEDI is committed to fostering diversity and celebrating differences, educating the community on the benefits of diversity, promoting equity, eliminating discrimination, and advancing equal access to all opportunities at the University. and it has a broad mandate that includes designing and overseeing the implementation of policies and programs, creating educational and training resources, coordinating with other departments and units across the university, and actively engaging with students, faculty, and staff to promote DEI on campus.


Anti-discrimination and Anti-harassment Policies

Gulf University for Science and Technology is committed to preserving an environment that respects the personal rights and dignity of each member of its community and providing an environment that is free from all forms of discrimination and harassment.

The Anti-Discrimination and Anti-Harassment Policy provides the overall philosophy and specific approaches for addressing discrimination, harassment, and/or related retaliation issues. It serves to augment other university-wide policies and is in accordance with federal, state, and local laws and regulations. The Anti-Discrimination and Anti-Harassment Policy combines and replaces the predecessor Sexual Harassment Policy and the Anti-Discriminatory Harassment Policy.

No one shall be the target of discrimination or harassment at Gulf University for Science and Technology based on their race, color, ethnicity, religion, sex, national origin, age, marital status, pregnancy, parental status, family relationship status, physical or mental disability, status as a member of the armed forces, genetic information, or any other status protected by local, state, or federal law in its environs. Gulf University for Science and Technology reserves the right to deal with anybody found to have participated in harassment, discrimination, and/or retaliation in violation of this policy by taking steps that are consistent with its policies and procedures.

When our offices receive a complaint of discrimination, harassment, or retaliation, including matters related to the Sexual and Relationship Violence Prevention and Response Policy and the Formal Title IX Sexual Harassment Policy and Procedures, the office will promptly investigate the complaint in a fair and expeditious manner. Every complaint is based on its own facts and circumstances, which can impact the course of the investigation.
